The Juilliard School chooses 1 Sound for its recital room

The Juilliard School continues its dedication to producing world-class artists through its selection of 1 Sound's speakers in its recital hall

Located in New York City, The Juilliard School has chosen 1 Sound technology to upgrade Morse Hall’s audio system. In collaboration with Adwar Video, a leading supplier of professional audiovisual equipment, and the Juilliard AV team, 1 Sound worked to fine-tune the system.

This decision was made after Adwar Video presented a demonstration of 1 Sound’s loudspeakers to The Juilliard School AV team. Following the demonstration, the conversation quickly shifted from audio quality to the essence of music. Ultimately, this presentation solidified 1 Sound as the right choice for the recital hall.

The Juilliard School team needed an audio design suitable for a versatile performance space. This system had to accommodate the hall’s use as a recital room, a classroom for film and music and a venue for special guest lectures.

The audio design for the room consisted of Tower LCC84 columns as the main left and right. These towers were supported by WSUB45is with Cannon C8s as delays.

The Tower LCC84’s narrow dispersion pattern proved ideal in this room with shorter ceilings. Controlled cardioid behaviour also helped in limiting reflections behind the speaker and eliminating potential feedback.

Ryan Muldoon, audiovisual design engineer at Juilliard, enjoyed the experience of working with the 1 Sound team. He shared, “The detail and soundscape of the 1 Sound loudspeakers is outstanding. It has been going great since the installation of the Morse Hall system, it sounds amazing.”

Professors and staff also approved the change in setup for their diverse programming needs.
